DC and Marvel TV shows in development

On the Marvel front, Netflix recently announced plans for four Marvel superhero programs - Luke Cage, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist. Those four will culminate in a miniseries called The Defenders (see more info HERE). Whether these shows are connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe remains to be confirmed. Odds are that they will be, with the current conjecture leaning towards these shows taking place in the '70s. Disney executive Bob Iger also commented that another Marvel show in addition to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is also in development (see more info HERE) and there's a lot of scuttlebutt which says that series is an extenuation of the Agent Carter One-Shot starring Hayley Atwell. This makes sense as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was born from the Agent Coulson One-Shot.

On the DC front, Arrow has been more successful than most would have dared project and is The CW's most watched show. Spinning out of Arrow will be a Flash tv program starring Gusting Grant (see more info HERE). Also recently announced were development deals for a Gotham tv series at Fox which follows Commissioner Gordon before Batman (see more info HERE), a Constantine tv show at NBC (see more info HERE), and more CW/DC programs in the form of Hourman (see more info HERE) and iZombie (see more info HERE). There's a question of whether The CW shows will be connected to the cinematic universe that started in Man of Steel and is continuing in Batman vs Superman. Arrow executive producer Greg Berlanti recently stated that no such discussions have taken place, which some have taken to mean the shows are connected. But you could also interpret that statement as those discussions simply haven't taken place yet. "No discussions" are different from "having discussions and being implicitly told that Arrow will not be set in the Man of Steel universe".

Elsewhere, AMC have announced plans for a Walking Dead spinoff that will not be based on the comic book and will feature an entirely new setting and cast of characters (see more info HERE). It's been said that the show will be a prequel, following the early days of the zombie apocalypse when civilization was not yet completely eroded. Another comic book related show in development is the League of Extraordinary Gentleman at Fox (see more info HERE).
