Karen Page has seen some bleak times over the years (drugs, pornography,... umm, death) in the Marvel Comics, and it sounds like actress Deborah Ann Woll will be drawing from that when she portrays the character in Netflix's upcoming Dardevil series. In an interview with Nylon.com, Woll suggests that her take on Page will fall somewhere between the "stereotypically feminine" secretary first introduced in the '60s, to the much darker depiction from Frank Miller's comics. "There’s this old idea that women in men’s stories are either Madonnas or whores, and she is both, but at different times,” says Woll. “What I ended up doing, and what Marvel was trying to do, was to merge those two. She doesn’t have to be a Madonna or a whore—she can be good and bad all at once, which is more modern.”
