STAR TREK Icon Leonard Nimoy Passes Away Aged 83

"Of all the souls I've encountered in my travels, his was the most.... human". Captain Kirk's (William Shatner) eulogy for his friend Spock after he died at the end of the movie The Wrath Of Khan. Now it pains us to report that we must say goodbye to the man who played Spock so brilliantly for all those years, Leonard Nimoy. According to the New York Times the actor passed away at his home after a long battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Nimoy was a photographer, writer, and poet among many other things, but he will of course be best remembered for bringing life to the ever-logical Vulcan in the original Star Trek series, and then several movies after. His final appearance as the character was a brief scene in Star Trek Into Darkness, giving advice to the younger Spock, Zachary Quinto. Here is a video tribute courtesy of the NT times, and that final Tweet from the actor. LLAP wherever you are now, sir.
