AFTERLIFE WITH ARCHIE TV Show Or Movie Is In The Works

Yesterday, Jon Goldwater, CEO of Archie Comics participated in a Reddit AMA. When Goldwater was asked if the ongoing horror series, Afterlife With Archie , will eventually become a television series or movie, he had this response:

"As for film and TV - the answer is YES! Absolutely! This is something that will be happening at some point in the near future - nothing to announce just yet, but rest assured it will happen ." - Jon Goldwater

This isn't too surprising as you have to imagine studios are scouring comic book properties that deal with zombie apocalypses to try and cash in on the success AMC has been having with The Walking Dead . For those of you that don't know, Afterlife With Archie begins with Sabrina the Teenage Witch bringing Jughead's beloved pet Hot Dog back to life. This has the unintended consequence of sparking a zombie apocalypse in Riverdale. It is up to Archie to emerge as a hero and lead the survivors out of town. It could make for a fun movie or a standalone TV show but as comicbook.com points out it would make more sense as a Halloween special to go along with the Archie Comics television show Fox is currently developing.

What do you think?
