Matthew McConaughey Will Reportedly Play 'Randall Flagg' In THE STAND

Back in late August, the trades reported that Matthew McConaughey was being "heavily considered" for the villainous role of Randall Flagg in Warner Bros. planned adaptation of Stephen King's The Stand. Following that, director Josh Boone denied that anything was official, actually stating that he'd always envisioned McConaughey in the role of main protagonist Stu Redman, and Christian Bale as Flagg. Well now The Guardian seem to have confirmed the initial report, as according to them the Oscar winning actor will indeed haunt some cornfields in the movie as "the Walkin' Dude", Randall Flagg. Recently we found out that WB were actually planning to adapt King's 1200 page novel into four films, which makes a lot more sense than the one 3-hour movie we were originally told we'd be getting. CBS Films will co-produce and co-present The Stand, with Roy Lee and Jimmy Miller producing. So far the only other actor to be cast is The Fault In Our Stars' Nat Wolff, who will play a character created specially for the movie.
