Winston, next time someone asks if you think an all-female Ghostbusters reboot is a good idea, you say YES! Out of all of the original Ghostbusters cast members, Ernie Hudson seemed to be pushing hardest for a third movie; so it's understandable that he'd be a tad miffed at the news that we'll now be getting a complete reboot which will apparently forget the first two films ever existed. In an interview with the UK Telegraph, Hudson (The Hand That Rocks The Cradle, OZ) echoes what most of us are thinking when it comes to the reboot idea, but also has some...interesting comments regarding the decision to have a female only team.
Is he right? Hudson's comments seem to stem from simply being very disappointed that he and his proton-pack wielding buddies won't get to reunite for another movie. “Maybe it will come out and be the most amazing thing, but in my opinion I think it would be wrong to do another movie that didn’t include the guys,” he added. “And that didn’t include me!”
“I heard it was going to be a total reboot, and that it would have nothing to do with the other two movies. If it has nothing to do with the other two movies, and it’s all female, then why are you calling it Ghostbusters? I love females. I hope that if they go that way at least they’ll be funny, and if they’re not funny at least hopefully it’ll be sexy. I love the idea of including women, I think that’s great. But all-female I think would be a bad idea. I don’t think the fans want to see that.”
