“You know what ol’ Jack Burton always says at a time like this?” This June, BOOM! Studios will tell you just what ol’ Jack Burton says in his continuing adventures in BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA, a new, ongoing series from comics favorites Eric Powell (The Goon) and Brian Churilla (The Sixth Gun: Sons of the Gun). The cult-classic film combined ‘80s supernatural action with ‘70s kung-fu flicks, and BOOM! has the film’s original director, John Carpenter, working alongside Powell to bring that over-the-top spirit to the comic.

Big Trouble in Little China (1986) - Jack Burton (Kurt Russell) is a simple man who doesn’t believe in ghosts or magic until he’s swept into a mind-boggling adventure deep within Chinatown’s mysterious underworld. Burton’s pal, Wang Chi (Dennis Dun), is trying to rescue his kidnapped fiancée. Egg Shen (Victor Wong), an enigmatic tour-bus driver seems to know a lot about ancient Chinese magic for a simple tour-bus driver. They do battle with an outlandish array of human and inhuman adversaries under the command of Lo Pan (James Hong), a 2000-year-old evil magician who has the power to transform himself from a wheelchair-bound old man into a seven-foot-tall mystical menace.

Actors: Kurt Russell, Kim Cattrall, Dennis Dun, James Hong, Victor Wong * Director: John Carpenter * Screenwriter: David Z. Weinstein, Gary Goldman, John Carpenter and W.D. Richter.
