A debut of $95 million or more was expected, while $100 million also should have been a likely outcome had the sequel exceeded expectations as Captain America: The Winter Soldier did a few weeks ago. While this is still a solid debut (the movie is hardly a flop), the fact that it will ultimately fail to top the domestic total of Cap's latest big screen outing is not something anyone would have believed a few years ago! However, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 should rake it in overseas, but whether or not it will earn more than The Amazing Spider-Man worldwide remains to be seen...
