Devin Faraci of Badass Digest has dropped another tidbit from his chat with Marvel Studios pioneer Kevin Feige during the junket for Captain America: The Winter Soldier last week. Now in regards to this summer's Guardians of the Galaxy, Feige assures that the James Gunn-directed space epic isn't all humor despite that aspect being showcased in the teaser trailer. “I think the surprise in Guardians will be that it looks like a weird, zany movie - and it is! - but we’re attempting to do, what James [Gunn[ is attempting to do, is make it a somber movie in places and a shockingly emotional movie in places. That’s the idea of the roller coaster ride when you go to the films.”
Meanwhile, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn recently revealed that reshoots, or additional filming, was underway in Los Angeles last week; they notably took place during and not too far from the Captain America: The Winter Soldier premiere. While Chris Pratt and Dave Bautista are the only confirmed actors involved, Gunn hinted at the nature of the shoot on Twitter: “Anything you want you didnt get,...something to make the movie better,...cool cameo idea.” Now thanks to Nuke the Fridge , we have a little more insight: spy photos from the studio shoot reveals that [highlight] S.H.I.E.L.D. will somehow have a presence in the Marvel space opera. What do you think?
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand - with the galaxy’s fate in the balance. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is presented by Marvel Studios and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film opens August 1, 2014.
