Ever since the success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, major movie studios such as Fox, Sony and WB/DC are now trying to establish their own shared universes. It should come to no surprise since Marvel's The Avengers was a box office smash and was critically successful. Now this 'RUMOUR' should be taken with a huge grain of salt. After the Disney's purchase of Marvel, Fox announced that a Fantastic Four reboot was in the works and Josh Trank is signed on to direct with Matthew Vaughn producing. The report from Motely suggests a cross over between the X-men and the new Fantastic Four reboot is in the works and it will be based on the 1987 four-issue comic book titled FANTASTIC FOUR vs. X-MEN.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. Fox has made great films with the first X-Men, X-Men 2 and First Class being good if not great comic book movies. However, the likes of Daredevil, Electra and the previous installments of the Fantastic Four films were bad if not terrible films. However, I don't wanna see this cross-over until I see how good the FF reboot is (if it gets made) and of DOFP is great. If one of them ends up not being good, then we have a problem and I have little faith in that FF reboot.
Apparently shooting for the FF reboot will begin on February 10, 2014 and will take place in and around the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area. Here's the synopsis:
"The Fantastic Four' will tell the tale of two very young friend, Reed Richards and Ben Grimm. After an even transforms the boys, they find themselves empowered with bizarre new abilities. Reed becomes a scientific genius who can stretch, twist and re-shape his body to inhuman proportions. Ben becomes a monstrous, craggy humanoid with orange, rock-like skin and super-strength. However, the two end up being owned by the government and used as weapons. But after they mature, two others with powers come into the picture-Sue Storm 'The Invisible Girl' and Johnny Storm 'The Human Torch."
What are your thoughts on this guys Do you think it's a good idea for these films to cross over? Please leave your comments below. :)
