Possible Details On The CW's HOURMAN Drama

Bleeding Cool's WB/CW spy is providing the site with all types of details this morning it seems. Fresh off of news on a possible Suicide Squad movie (more details HERE) and Young Justice tv show (more details HERE), we have details on the plot for the Hourman drama in development at The CW. Bleeding Cool surmises the show may have certain elements reminiscent of another DC comic book, Dial H. BC reports:

...the drug "Miraclo" from the comic book series, in the TV show will have a different effect on each person who takes it, summoning different powers and abilities based on their personality, enhancing existing talents or abilities tenfold, but with terrible side effects.

And a different person will get the powers each week…

Michael Caleo (Ironside, The Sopranos) is writing the pilot for Hourman while Dan Lin (Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, Gangster Squad) and Jennifer Gwartz (Party Down, Veronica Mars) are executive producing. At the time of announcement, it was reported by THR that the series would follow " brilliant-yet-troubled pharmaceutical analyst who discovers that the visions that have plagued him since childhood are actually glimpses of tragic events occurring one hour in the future. Determined to win back his ex-wife and son, he heroically prevents these tragedies from unfolding, finding both purpose and redemption along the way." Maybe those plans have changed since then or the series has evolved to become a combination of both ideas?

While this new idea sounds more intriguing, the concept is still a few turns away from the character's original depiction. Hourman is somewhat of a poor man's Superman or a Luke Cage to Thor if you will. But Hourman has the added caveat that the drug he ingests to give himself super strength and super speed only supplies those super powers for an hour. Whether this new description pans out remains to be seen but we'll keep you posted as news on the Hourman show develops.

Oh, and one final thought, is the super power drug presently being developed by Brother Blood (Kevin Alejandro) on The CW's Arrow also called Miraclo?
