Joaquin Phoenix Wanted For Main Villain (Lex Luther?) Role In BATMAN VS SUPERMAN

Lately there have been quite a few actors that Warner Bros. are reportedly interested in for roles in the Man of Steel sequel, Batman Vs. Superman. However, Variety reports that three-time Academy Award-nominated actor Joaquin Phoenix is being eyed for the main villain of the Zack Snyder-directed film. But as the Hollywood source notes, "it’s very early in the process" and very possible that Phoenix, who's lately receiving buzz for his role in Warner and Spike Jonze's Her, would decline the studio's offer given that he's expressed not being too keen on starring in big-budget movies.

Should Joaquin Phoenix accept the offer, the Batman Vs. Superman role he'd tackle is said to be the main antagonist, who's likely to be none other than Lex Luther. Actors Callan Mulvey and Jason Momoa have, too, been eyed for villain roles previously, but "sources are saying that they wouldn’t play the main villain," according to Variety. "Warners has always wanted someone who would be a slam dunk in the role." Anyhow, Joaquin Phoenix, 39, would join Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne. And directed by Zack Snyder, Batman Vs. Superman (working title) is scheduled for release on July 17, 2015! What do you think?
