Michael Bay Promises A Less "Goofy" TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION

Yahoo! paid a visit to the set of Transformers: Age Of Extinction, and their report reveals a few new tidbits of information (Mark Wahlberg's "wacky inventor" and Stanley Tucci's character will be involved in the final battle for example), but what will probably interest fans most is director Micheal Bay's claim that this fourth movie in the incredibly lucrative franchise will tone down the "goofiness" that pervaded the previous installments -- and despite rumors to the contrary, this is most definitely not a reboot.

“I wanted the first Transformers to be very suburban and less cool, this is a much more cinematic one. I focused on keeping this one slick. There won’t be any goofiness in this one. We went a bit too goofy [on the last one]. It feels like a new chapter, this movie, but it’s not a reboot. This movie lives in the history of the 'Transformers' movies, and this one starts three years after the last. It feels fresh.”

We'll see. Personally I don't think Bay will be able to resist putting at least one dick joke in there somewhere, but who knows. There's much more at the link below, including interviews with Wahlberg and his co-stars Nicola Peltz and Jack Reynor.
