Bruce Campbell Shoots Down ARMY OF DARKNESS 2 Rumors... That He Started

This past weekend, Erin Darling interviewed Bruce Campbell at Comikaze in Los Angeles. When Erin inquired about the new Army of Darkness 2 rumors, Campbell immediately douses them with cold water.

"It's all Internet b.s. - there's no reality whatsoever. These random comments slip out of my mouth or Sam Raimi's mouth, next thing you know, we're making a sequel."

As a reminder, Campbell and the rest of the Evil Dead gang have been hinting at a cross-over film between Ash and Mia while they were all promoting Fede Alvarez's Evil Dead remake. A couple weeks ago at Wizard World Nashville, a fan in attendance asked Campbell if he would reprise his role as Ash for Army of Darkness 2 and he replied, "Alright sir, the answer is yes." About a week after that, Fede was asked on Twitter if he would direct Army of Darkness 2, and he said no, but "Sam Raimi will!" So, with all of those pieces, it should be safe for the internet to conclude an Army of Darkness sequel was on the horizon, but apparently it wasn't.

Army of Darkness was written and directed by Sam Raimi. His brother Ivan co-wrote the script. The cast included: Bruce Campbell as Ash Williams/Evil Ash, Embeth Davidtz as Sheila, Marcus Gilbert as Lord Arthur, Ian Abercrombie as Wiseman, Richard Grove as Duke Henry the Red, Bridget Fonda as Linda, Patricia Tallman as Possessed witch and Ted Raimi as Cowardly warrior / Second supportive villager / Anthony, the S-Mart clerk. On a budget of $13 million, the film pulled in $21 at the worldwide box office.
