Despite rumors that the Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues actor was demanding more money for the role, sources of The Hollywood Reporter reveal that "Paul Rudd is the frontrunner to play Henry Pym" in Marvel's upcoming Ant-Man adaptation. The trade magazine also notes that there's "a push to find Pym's 30-ish girlfriend," who's likely to be Janet Van Dyne aka The Wasp. There were previous reports that said Parks and Recreation actress Rashida Jones was vying for that role in the Edgar Wright-directed film, but there's been no further indication of it coming to fruition.

Paul Rudd now being considered the frontrunner for Ant-Man means Marvel ultimately decided over Joseph Gordon-Levitt, whose name has been (actively) linked to many upcoming comic book adaptations. Anyhow, Edgar Wright directs Ant-Man and the film is scheduled for release on July 31, 2015.
