The short answer to the question above is no. Talking to MTV News while promoting The Martian at the Toronto International Film Festival, the X-Men: Apocalypse swriter had this to say about the rumours that Taylor Swift is going to be making a cameo appearance as Dazzler (which, let's face it, would actually be pretty perfect casting). "No, there’s nothing to it. I know where [the rumor] came from, because it’s my fault. [We] went to the show, me and those people, and then she invited us to come back and meet her afterwards. It was just a photo backstage at the concert, and that was the only time we ever saw her. That’s where that particular rumor came from."
Could there still be a chance that Fox enlists Swift to take on the role in this or a future X-Men movie though? "After I saw those things I was like oh, that’s kind of interesting, but no, we were actually just there for her concert." Damn. Of course, this isn't the first time a singer has been rumoured to be up for the role of Dazzler in one of these films. Sarah Harding was apparently being considered for Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class, but that too came to nothing. Thoughts?
