Ben Affleck as Batman, hot topic right? So hot it has turned CBM.com into a flame war powered sauna. One thing a lot of people over looked, is the possibility that WB/DC made this announcement just to attract attention to their new planned film. I know it sounds crazy, but I have some reasons as to why it is plausible.
1. Ben Affleck: He carries weight to his name. You hear Ben Affleck, you think Argo, his loving wife Jennifer Aniston, and Daredevil. So if you were a film company, circulating you would want a big actor, right?. For instance look at me. I have a new comic I've been working on, and Gusto is the one thing that attracts attention to it.
2. Christian Bale: When you think Batman, he is one of the first actors that should pop in your mind. Known around the world for his smoker Batman, garnishing Batman so much attention for the way he portrayed him. Why would he just drop that life time role so quickly? That makes no sense what so ever. I think that he WILL be playing Batman, and that he said he will not just to garnish attention for DC/WB.
3. Ben Affleck: Awesome writer, and awesome director. He could possibly still be working with WB/DC...but just as a writer? Could this whole situation just been played so that Ben could secretly have joined up with WB/DC as a writer? Possibly.
So those are just 3 reasons I think this whole thing is a ruse. I think we all need to be vigilant with the coming years and remember the possibility that we have all....been...played.
